Rebecca Fenner

Rebecca Fenner joins High Line Publishing Studio as Marketing and Communications Assistant, fresh from an MA in Acting at Arts Educational Schools and a BA in English Literature from the University of Bristol. Her path so far has spanned talent representation and live events, from working as an Assistant Agent to welcoming guests at Somerset House’s press nights and exhibitions. Alongside her work at High Line, Rebecca continues to perform, most recently in a new musical about the life of Frida Kahlo at the Arts Depot following her final drama school production as Queen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in Love. She combines her creative training with her literary background, and is excited to bring that same curiosity and energy to how High Line connects with its readers.

Three books that have stuck with me:

If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio. A dark academia thriller steeped in Shakespeare, and one that had me completely gripped from start to finish.

Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. A book I studied at university, and one I still return to for its beautiful prose and for Janie's refusal to settle for a life that was merely comfortable.

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. Rebecca is on this list completely unironically — genuinely one of my favourite books, not just because we share a name.

Something people are always surprised to learn about me:

Somehow I'm certified in stand-up paddle boarding. I still can't stand up on one.
