Three books that have stuck with me:
A Time to Kill by John Grisham — I read this while having the flu when I was 13 years old. I will never forget the story and how it occupied my time while I was sick in bed. The movie is a favorite too.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah — all of Kristin Hannah's historical fiction books are terrific, but The Nightingale stands out. "Always look for the helpers" is a famous quote by Mr. Rogers and "the helpers" in this book, and in real life during the Holocaust, deserve to have their stories told. I hope this novel draws people into the true stories of the courageous women who risked their lives to save others throughout history.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid — this book is just a ton of fun. It is the first novel I listened to completely in audio, and I can still hear the narrator's voice. It is the perfect escape and a fabulous ride!
